An Accra Circuit Court has ordered the State to submit witness statements before the next court session in the case involving Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako of Alive Chapel International, his wife Mouha Amoako, and one Linda Bonsu Bempah. Assistant State Attorney Yaw Acquah informed the court that while the prosecution has filed an initial batch of disclosures, witness statements are still pending.
Bishop Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, parents of a sixteen-year-old boy, are facing trial after their son allegedly caused a fatal accident on October 12 in East Legon, Accra. The juvenile, driving a Jaguar, reportedly collided with another vehicle, resulting in the deaths of two young girls.
The couple and Linda Bempah, a family employee, are each charged with permitting an unlicensed person to drive. According to the case details, on October 12, 2024, during a celebration for another son’s 25th birthday, Linda allegedly handed the car keys to the juvenile, fully aware that he was a minor and unlicensed.
The juvenile, along with his friend Prince Tijani, reportedly drove the car toward Bawaleshie on Dzanie Ashie Street. Near the Mensah Wood Avenue junction, he crashed into the back of an Acura SUV. Both vehicles were propelled across the road and into a nearby fence, catching fire and burning beyond recognition. Tragically, two 12-year-old girls, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh Boateng, were trapped in the Acura and died in the fire.
Investigations revealed that the parents admitted to allowing their son to drive to the gym and around the neighborhood. The three accused will reappear in court on November 28, 2024, while the juvenile involved in the incident is scheduled to appear before the Juvenile Court on November 20, 2024.
